At the end of the hearing in the specialized committees of Parliament, PSD Deputy Prime Minister Marian Neacșu stated that AUR is a party with which he has collaborated before, mentioning that he has no problem with the Executive being supported by the formation led by George Simion.
Neacșu emphasized that Romania is facing a lack of governmental functionality for two months and stressed the need for a government with real parliamentary support. Although he was asked about negotiations with AUR, Neacșu denied that formal discussions had taken place, but considered it correct for the designated Prime Minister, Adrian Veștea, to talk to all parliamentary parties. Neacșu praised the economic knowledge of the leader of the AUR senators, Petrișor Peiu, and mentioned that Veștea is committed to an open dialogue with any political formation. This statement comes in the context of the meeting between Veștea and George Simion, in which the designated Prime Minister is seeking the necessary support for the government’s investiture.
UPDATE: At the end of the meeting between George Simion and Adrian Veștea, the AUR leader stated on Monday evening that his formation will not vote for the government proposed by the designated Prime Minister, in the absence of clarifications from President Nicușor Dan. Adrian Veștea stated that "we discussed a series of economic measures that AUR representatives want."
