Petrișor Peiu accuses Nicușor Dan of having a plan with the PSD: “It is masochistic to ask us for votes after they have insulted us for so many years”

Petrișor Peiu, a representative of AUR, rules out any discussion regarding parliamentary support for a government led by Mureșan and claims that President Nicușor Dan is seeking to form a majority with the PSD. The statements were made in the context of negotiations concerning the investiture of the future government.

Peiu maintains that AUR will not support such a cabinet and rejects the idea that the party should be approached for votes in Parliament. “I don’t think anyone will seek votes from AUR for a Mureșan government. It is masochistic to knock on AUR’s door to ask for votes,” he said.

The politician added that the party does not intend to support the government after the criticism it has received in recent years. “We’re not even looking through the peephole,” Peiu said.

At the same time, he considers the chances of early elections being triggered to be very low. According to the scenario presented by Peiu, if Mureșan resigns his mandate or fails to obtain the investiture vote, Nicușor Dan could designate Sorin Grindeanu for the position of prime minister. Peiu believes that, subsequently, a majority could be formed with the PSD, UDMR, and other political parties. These statements represent Petrișor Peiu’s political assessment.
