George Simion announces that AUR will not vote for the Mureșan Government and that it has begun negotiations with other political formations to form "a stable government"

AUR President George Simion announced on Monday, September 28, that the party’s parliamentarians will not participate in the hearings of the ministers proposed by Siegfried Mureșan and will not vote to approve the new Cabinet. The decision comes on the day the hearings begin in the parliamentary committees and calls into question the support needed to form the Government.

In a message posted on Facebook, Simion claimed that pressure had been exerted on AUR to support the Executive and announced that the party would refuse both to participate in the hearings and to vote in the joint plenary session of Parliament.

The AUR leader stated that the party had appointed a team that would negotiate with the other parties over the coming days to form a different cabinet and a stable majority. Simion said that AUR should be part of the future government.

“We will not be present in the committees or in the plenary session, and we will not vote for a Siegfried Mureșan government or the one that follows it, Nazare, because that would mean betraying the trust you have placed in us. We are going through a major political crisis. We have appointed a negotiating team with all the political parties so that in the coming days we can form a stable government. It is AUR’s duty to be part of the government and to get the country through these difficult times,” George Simion said.
