AUR announced that it will not participate in the hearings of the ministers proposed for the Siegfried Mureșan Cabinet and that it will not vote for the government in Parliament. The party’s spokesperson, MP Ștefăniță Avrămescu, criticized the governing program and described the situation as “a sinister joke,” arguing that Romania needs a government as soon as possible.
Avrămescu stated that AUR had expressed its opposition to this government from the outset and rejected the idea of participating in the hearings of ministers whose nominations are not supported by the party. He specified that the party will not be part of an executive whose majority was not discussed before the consultations at Cotroceni Palace.
The AUR representative said that any negotiations must be conducted at the level of the party leadership, not with individual MPs. The message was also addressed to Sorin Grindeanu, whom Avrămescu said must discuss with the party if he wants a dialogue with AUR.
The party says it is open to negotiations for forming a majority and announces talks with PSD, PNL and USR. AUR says that these consultations should focus on the governing program, solutions to the economic crisis and the measures needed to overcome the social crisis.
