In Craiova, George Simion, the president of AUR, reportedly had a discreet meeting with PSD leaders, Claudiu Manda and Lia Olguța Vasilescu, to discuss a possible joint government formula between the two parties.

This discussion took place against the backdrop of the political instability generated by the fall of the Bolojan Government and could radically change the power architecture in Bucharest.

A notable aspect of the negotiations is that the current president of PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, is not included in this equation, which suggests a paradigm shift in the relations between the two formations.

It seems that the agreed principle would be for the alliance to continue even after the 2028 elections. Although AUR and PSD have collaborated previously, voting together for the dismissal of the government, this meeting suggests an intention to strengthen long-term relations.
