Sorin Grindeanu, the president of PSD, stated that he does not rule out collaboration with AUR, emphasizing the importance of respecting the votes of Romanians. Although AUR is in a favorable position in polls, Grindeanu expressed serious reservations regarding the credibility of AUR leaders and their positions in foreign policy, especially concerning Russia and Ukraine. He mentioned that these positions are incompatible with the orientations of PSD, the European Union, and NATO.
Grindeanu stated that his objective is to form a new government by the end of summer, although PSD currently does not have the 233 votes necessary in Parliament. He remains optimistic that negotiations will be successful and will try to gather votes without revealing his strategy.
