AUR is open to discussions with PSD if Sorin Grindeanu extends an invitation

AUR representatives are willing to talk with the PSD if the Social Democrats’ leader, Sorin Grindeanu, extends an official invitation, AUR Senate leader Petrișor Peiu said on Tuesday.

Peiu stated in Parliament that AUR would attend a meeting with Grindeanu or with PSD representatives if there were an invitation. The senator insisted that parliamentary majorities are built before the presidential consultations, not after them.

The AUR Senate leader rejected reports of individual negotiations with parliamentarians and maintained that the party discusses matters only institutionally. At the same time, he ruled out supporting a government built around Siegfried Mureșan, whom he said “has no chance,” given that Mureșan is currently ruling out any dialogue with AUR. Peiu suggested that the party’s parliamentarians might not take part in the vote on such a government.
