A 47-year-old man was detained for repeated high-risk drug trafficking, having been suspected of selling cocaine at a gym in the municipality of Brașov. According to investigators, the transactions allegedly took place between March and October 2026, in a space with access controlled by membership.
DIICOT Brașov prosecutors say the suspect allegedly procured, possessed and repeatedly sold quantities of cocaine for amounts ranging from 3,000 lei to 3,000 euros. Following the searches, investigators discovered and seized more than one kilogram of cocaine, ecstasy tablets, a precision electronic scale, objects bearing traces of a substance, money and other evidence.
The drugs were divided into several bags and allegedly hidden in secret compartments built into carved wooden panels and two chessboards. The substances were placed under seizure.
The man was brought before the Brașov Tribunal on Wednesday, with prosecutors seeking 30 days of preventive detention. The operation received support from fighters of the Special Actions Service within the Brașov County Police Inspectorate. The investigation is continuing to establish the full extent of the criminal activity.
