Anterior cazului din Boșorod, DIICOT a anunțat reținerea a trei persoane în Hunedoara pentru organizarea unei ceremonii spirituale denumite „Amazon Weekend”, programată la o pensiune din aceeași zonă, unde anchetatorii au indicat consumul unor substanțe interzise precum Ayahuasca și San Pedro (droguri de mare risc). În acea cauză, potrivit informațiilor publicate, în urma perchezițiilor au fost descoperite peste 6,6 litri de mescalină și ciuperci halucinogene, precum și echipamente pregătite pentru consumul substanțelor.

Two members of the same family, a 56-year-old man and a 58-year-old woman, were placed in preventive custody after DIICOT prosecutors raided a ceremony organized in the commune of Boșorod, Hunedoara County. The two are accused of high-risk drug trafficking.
According to investigators, the suspects allegedly organized closed-door gatherings presented to participants as personal development workshops and sacred ceremonies for healing and the exploration of consciousness. Participants paid thousands of lei to attend, while the fee for the latest retreat, held in mid-October, allegedly exceeded 3,500 lei per person.
During the searches, police discovered hundreds of milliliters of a substance containing DMT, more than 100 grams of coca leaves, and cannabis prepared for participants. Investigators also seized nearly 45,000 euros and 19,000 lei, money they suspect came from access fees.
The two were detained after the intervention during the ritual, and the court subsequently ordered their preventive detention. Investigations are continuing to establish the full scope of the activity and the number of people involved.
