A wave of Saharan dust, brought by warm air masses from Africa, will cross Europe, including Romania, in the coming days. Meteorologists announce that the dust will reach the country by the end of the week, but the concentrations of particles will be low, having a minimal impact on the health of the population. However, individuals with respiratory conditions are advised to avoid prolonged exposure outdoors. The phenomenon, which is becoming more frequent, is less common at the end of autumn, and the sky may take on yellow-orange hues. Saharan dust, made up of particles lifted by winds from the African desert, can travel thousands of kilometers, affecting visibility. Romania has experienced such phenomena before, most recently in the spring of this year, when the sky had a golden-yellow hue. The effects are generally visual, without significant repercussions on health.
