Starting Monday, the red code will extend across almost the entire country, with temperatures of 41 degrees. 35 counties and Bucharest will be under a red heatwave code from 10 AM.

Almost the entire country, including Bucharest, will be under a red heatwave warning starting Monday morning. The counties, including the coastal area, will be under an orange warning.


"In Dobrogea and the eastern half of Muntenia, the heat wave will intensify, there will be a heatwave and significant thermal discomfort, and the temperature-humidity index (THI) will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units. Maximum temperatures will range from 32 degrees in the Danube Delta to 38 degrees in the rest of the areas. Nights will be tropical, with minimums ranging between 20 and 24 degrees," according to ANM.


"In Banat, Crișana, Maramureș, Transylvania, Moldova, Oltenia, and the western half of Muntenia, extreme maximum temperatures will be recorded, comparable to the absolute records of June, thermal discomfort will be particularly pronounced, and the temperature-humidity index (THI) will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units. Maximum temperatures will range between 35 and 41 degrees, with the highest values in Banat and Crișana," meteorologists announce.
