Yellow heatwave warning this weekend across three-quarters of the country: ANM announces temperatures of up to 36 degrees

The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) issued a yellow heatwave warning on Friday, valid on Saturday between 10:00 and 21:00, for approximately three quarters of the country, including the municipality of Bucharest. Meteorologists warn of particularly high temperatures, heatwave conditions, and increased thermal discomfort.

The warning concerns the regions of Banat, Oltenia, Muntenia, and Dobrogea, most of Moldavia, as well as southern Crișana and Transylvania. Maximum temperatures will range between 30 and 36 degrees Celsius, with the highest values forecast in Banat and Oltenia.

The temperature-humidity index will reach around the critical threshold of 80 units, indicating high thermal discomfort. In Bucharest, maximum temperatures will reach 34–35 degrees, while thermal discomfort will be particularly intense in the afternoon.

The warning is valid throughout Saturday, when the public is advised to pay increased attention to heat exposure and to avoid, as much as possible, spending time in the sun during peak hours.
