The National Meteorological Administration has updated the forecast and issued orange and yellow heatwave warnings, valid for the entire country, as well as a yellow warning for rain and storms for several counties in central and northeastern Romania, until tonight at 23:00.
On Saturday, maximum temperatures will range between 33 and 37 degrees, with high thermal discomfort, and in the southern part of the country, the night will be tropical, with minimums of 19-22 degrees. The counties of Mehedinți, Dolj, Olt, and Teleorman will experience severe heat, with temperatures reaching up to 38 degrees.
Between 14:00 and 23:00, the ANM has issued a yellow warning for atmospheric instability, with storms and torrential downpours in the Southern and Eastern Carpathians and northern Moldova. On Sunday, the heatwave will retreat to the south, and in the counties of Vâlcea, Argeș, Dâmbovița, and Prahova, there will be a yellow storm warning, with showers and wind intensifications. Meteorologists warn that in these areas, significant amounts of water can accumulate, up to 40 l/m².
