At the beginning of August, Romania will face a new heatwave, with maximum temperatures reaching up to 39°C, according to estimates from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF).

Between July 27 and August 9, temperatures will gradually rise across most of the country, and thermal discomfort will be heightened. The highest values are forecasted in Crișana, where maximums could reach 39°C on August 5, and in Banat, with temperatures up to 38°C.

In other regions, maximum values will reach 35-36°C in Transylvania, 37-38°C in Maramureș, 36°C in Moldova, 34°C in Dobrogea, and 37-38°C in Muntenia and Oltenia. In the mountains, temperatures will be moderate, with maximums around 25°C.

Meteorologists estimate periods of atmospheric instability in the first days of the interval, but also after August 5, when severe weather phenomena are possible.
