Europe is facing a wave of extreme heat, affecting more than 95 million people, with temperatures exceeding 35 degrees Celsius. This situation is less severe than on Monday, when high temperatures were forecasted for 130 million people. The most affected areas include eastern and southern Europe, with Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Moldova, Ukraine, Serbia, and Croatia among the countries targeted. Additionally, millions of people in Spain and Italy are facing extreme heat. The heatwave has already had significant effects, including excess deaths and school closures. Experts warn that the actual number of affected individuals could be higher, especially in large cities, where the urban heat island phenomenon amplifies temperatures. Scientists emphasize that such a heatwave would have been "practically impossible" without climate change. Although the intensity of the heat is decreasing in some areas, eastern and southern Europe remain under the pressure of high temperatures.
