Western Europe is facing an extreme heatwave called 'Omega', which has brought record temperatures, deaths, and major problems in energy supply. In France, Tuesday recorded the hottest day in history, with temperatures reaching 44.3 degrees Celsius. Authorities are working to restore electricity in affected areas. Italy has issued heatwave alerts for 16 cities, and the United Kingdom is preparing for the hottest day in June.

The heatwave has caused the deaths of dozens of people, including drownings and heatstroke victims. Agriculture has also been affected, with hundreds of thousands of birds dying due to the heat. Meteorologists explain the phenomenon through a rare configuration called 'Omega block', which keeps warm air above the affected regions. The World Meteorological Organization warns that Europe is warming twice as fast as the global average, and the effects are felt in daily life, including changes in school schedules and sports activities. Extreme temperatures continue to impact work and consumption, with increased demand for fans and sun protection products.
