The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, has begun consultations with parliamentary factions and groups to designate a candidate for the position of Prime Minister. These discussions will take place at the Presidency on October 23 and 24. The schedule includes meetings with various parties, and on October 24, the consultations will continue with the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS).
Igor Grosu, the president of PAS, announced that he will propose economist and businessman Alexandru Munteanu for the position of prime minister, after Dorin Recean decided to withdraw from politics at the expiration of the current mandate. Munteanu, with experience in investments and at the World Bank, holds citizenship of three countries and will need to focus on the economic growth of the country.
