According to a draft law currently in the approval circuit, public sector employees who have received a retirement decision can continue to work until the age of 70, with the annual agreement of the employer. However, this option comes with a condition: retirees must accept a reduction of 85% of their pension amount. The rules also apply in the case of re-employment through a new work contract. Additionally, employers are obligated to terminate the work contracts of retirees who do not opt for this continuation of activity, within 15 days of the law coming into force. There are exceptions for individuals elected to public office, who can combine their pension with their salary during their term. The draft is part of an Emergency Ordinance that will be discussed in coalition before being adopted by the Government.
