Minister Cseke Attila has announced that the Government will abolish tens of thousands of posts in local municipalities as part of the local public administration reform.

Cseke Attila, Minister of Development, said that the reform of local public administration will involve the abolition of tens of thousands of posts, returning to a principle of proportionality between the number of inhabitants and the number of posts in town halls. At present, only one-quarter of administrative-territorial units can support their wage bill from their own revenues. The government will review the organization charts and restrict the number of posts, including the possibility of reducing the number of councillors for deputy mayors, in the current budgetary context.
