Altex Romania is expanding its business in the DIY market by acquiring Bricostore, a significant step for the electro-IT retailer. This is Altex's first major transaction, which benefits from a loan of 21.5 million euros from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), under an agreement with Raiffeisen Bank Romania. The transaction, valued at 70 million euros, includes 31 stores and distribution operations, marking the exit of the British group Kingfisher from the Romanian market. Altex, with over 130 stores in Romania, recorded a turnover of 7.01 billion lei in 2023, with a net profit of 145.85 million lei. Additionally, Altex has started to invest in electricity production through Altex Green Energy.
