Before the criticism directed at the list of candidates proposed by the PSD, Siegfried Mureșan was involved in the attempt to form a new government. He announced when he would submit the governing program and the list of ministers to Parliament, and the documents were presented as part of the effort to obtain the investiture vote.
The government proposed by Mureșan was supported by the PNL, USR, UDMR, and national minorities, but was rejected by Parliament. Meanwhile, there were also reactions from the PSD, which asked the designated prime minister to give up his mandate, arguing that he would not have enough votes to secure the approval of a parliamentary majority.
In this context, Mureșan continued his political efforts, while the list of ministers was shaped through negotiations between the PNL, USR, and UDMR, with hearings scheduled in Parliament and an investiture vote set for a later date. At the same time, disputes regarding portfolios and positions were mentioned against the backdrop of the prolonged political crisis.
