Designated Prime Minister Siegfried Mureșan announced on Friday, at G4Media, that he will present the full list of ministers and the government program for the future Cabinet on Saturday, at Parliament. He refused to confirm or deny the names being discussed for the ministries, stating that all information would be announced once the documents were submitted.
Asked whether Mihai Dimian would remain Minister of Education, Mureșan did not provide a direct answer. He said that Education was a sensitive area even before the current minister’s term and that decisions regarding social scholarships had not been made lightly.
The designated prime minister explained that, after the appointment decree was published, his team worked on finalizing the government program and the list of ministers. Mureșan wants the hearings in the parliamentary committees to take place on Monday and Tuesday, with the investiture vote scheduled for Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday.
The government has the support of the PNL, USR, and UDMR, but when asked what real chances he had in the vote, Mureșan said that the Social Democrats had not made a final decision and that a dialogue between him and the PSD would take place at the beginning of next week.
“The PSD will have to prove that it is a pro-European party. I am convinced that the PSD, which is already a weakened party, will become an appendage of the AUR if it votes against my government,” he emphasized at G4Media.
We remind you that Mureșan did not attend the meeting proposed by Sorin Grindeanu at the party headquarters. He explained that, in fact, no meeting had been scheduled for a specific time or at a specific place and that it would have seemed natural to him for discussions regarding the investiture of the Government to take place in Parliament.
The publicly announced program includes 28 areas, including administrative reform, public finances, healthcare, justice, education, defense, and the completion of the special pensions reform.
