In an interview for Magyar Nemzet, Viktor Orban, the Prime Minister of Hungary, stated that the EU summit in Brussels contributed to a closer approach to war in Ukraine, asserting that, although the escalation process has been slowed down, it has not been stopped. Orban highlighted the division of Europe into two camps: pro-war and pro-peace, emphasizing that the pro-war forces currently have the advantage. He also mentioned that 2025 could be the last year of peace in Europe. The Prime Minister criticized the EU's sanctions policy, arguing that it has affected Hungary's economy, increasing energy prices and destroying the European industry.
