The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that the window of opportunity for ending the war through diplomatic means extends from the G20 summit in December 2026 until the end of the summer of 2027, when the presidential elections in the USA begin.

Zelensky emphasized the difficulties encountered in negotiations with Russia, which insists on Ukraine's withdrawal from Donbas. He also announced that he reached an agreement with special envoys of the US president to discuss a ceasefire and other economic proposals. At the same time, Zelensky mentioned the challenges related to air defense and financing, highlighting the need for 30 billion euros from European funds for the defense of Ukraine.

He acknowledged that Ukraine is facing a significant budget deficit, which affects its defense capability. Zelensky called for the acceleration of the allocation of European funds to ensure a normal start to next year.
