Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that Poland will continue to support Ukraine in its fight against Russia, despite a recent historical dispute between the two nations.

Donald Tusk emphasized the importance of European and transatlantic unity ahead of the NATO summit in Ankara, highlighting the crucial role of Poland and other states on NATO's eastern flank in this confrontation.

The dispute was triggered by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's decision to name a military unit after the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), which is considered responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of Poles during World War II.

Zelensky also canceled his participation in the Conference for the Reconstruction of Ukraine in Gdansk, being replaced by his government chief.

Tusk mentioned that the conference will address ways to restore Ukrainian infrastructure affected by the war, with the possibility of signing 200 contracts worth billions of euros.
