A drone attack carried out by Ukraine caused temporary interruptions in the supply of electricity and heating in the city of Voronezh, Russia, according to statements from regional governor Alexander Gusev. The attack occurred after Russia launched a massive strike on the Ukrainian energy system, leaving several regions in Ukraine without electricity. Although several drones were shot down by electronic warfare systems, a fire broke out at a utility facility but was quickly extinguished.
Residents of Voronezh reported explosions and power outages, and Russian Telegram channels claimed that the city's thermal power plant was attacked. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that 44 Ukrainian drones were destroyed, without mentioning the drones shot down in the Voronezh region. Ukraine has intensified attacks on Russian infrastructure, which it considers acts of self-defense, while Moscow labels them as terrorism.
