Ukraine attacks Russian refineries in Saratov and Tatarstan with drones

On the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, Ukraine launched drone attacks on refineries in the Saratov and Tatarstan regions, according to social media sources and news agencies.

The Ukrainian channel Exilenova+ reported attacks on the refinery in Saratov and the Nijnekamskneftehim petrochemical plant in Tatarstan. The governor of the Saratov region, Roman Busarghin, announced that critical infrastructure was damaged, with injuries and one fatality. The mayor of Saratov mentioned that the windows of several civilian institutions were destroyed. In southern Russia, two oil tankers were damaged by a Ukrainian attack, but there were no hydrocarbon spills. In the Voronezh region, Ukrainian drones targeted a military airfield, causing a fire.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported the downing of 415 drones in 17 regions, including in Crimea. These attacks highlight the intensification of the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
