The European Commission has intensified its humanitarian response in Lebanon, delivering nearly 150 tons of vital materials to support people displaced due to the deteriorating situation in the country. Hadja Lahbib, Commissioner for Equality and Crisis Management, emphasized that the situation in Lebanon is worsening, affecting millions of people already in difficulty.
Through humanitarian air bridges, the EU is ramping up efforts to reach the most vulnerable individuals. Three flights have been coordinated to transport medical supplies, hygiene products, and food, with the support of UN agencies and humanitarian organizations. This delivery is part of the recently announced €100 million humanitarian aid and adds to a previous delivery of over 75 tons of essential materials. More than a million people have been forced to leave their homes, and the European Commission is committed to continuing support for those in difficulty, both in Lebanon and throughout the region.
