In the context of the conflict in Ukraine, European countries are working together with Kiev on a 12-point plan aimed at ending the war with Russia, which excludes the cession of territories. The plan includes a ceasefire, the return of deported children, and prisoner exchanges, as well as security guarantees for Ukraine. Sanctions against Russia would be lifted gradually, and the frozen reserves of the Russian central bank would be returned only after Moscow contributes to the reconstruction of Ukraine. Additionally, negotiations regarding the governance of occupied territories are expected, without recognizing them as part of Russia.
Despite calls for a ceasefire, Russia has rejected ceasefire proposals. President Trump supported the idea of freezing the conflict but was criticized for suggesting territorial concessions from Ukraine. European leaders continue to demand an immediate end to the war and support for Ukraine, while Zelensky emphasized the importance of maintaining current positions before peace negotiations.
