The Danish military intelligence agency (FE) has stated that the country is facing more external threats than in recent years, in the context of intensifying geopolitical conflicts and doubts regarding the U.S. commitment to European security. FE's annual report emphasizes that major world powers, such as Russia and China, prioritize their own interests and resort to force to achieve their objectives. The war in Ukraine significantly influences security in the region, and uncertainty regarding the U.S. role as a guarantor of European security could encourage Russia to intensify hybrid attacks against NATO. Although there is no imminent threat of a direct military attack on Denmark, the intelligence service estimates that the military threat from Russia against NATO will increase.
