President Nicușor Dan reaffirmed at the NATO Summit in Ankara that Russia is the main threat to the Alliance and emphasized support for Ukraine.

At the end of the NATO Summit in Ankara, President Nicușor Dan stated that Russia has been reaffirmed as the main threat to the Alliance.

The Summit Declaration mentioned support for Ukraine, considered essential for the defense of Europe and, implicitly, of Romania.

In his intervention, Nicușor Dan reaffirmed Romania's support for Ukraine and raised two important points: the necessity of supporting the defense capabilities of the Republic of Moldova and the strategic importance of the Black Sea, both from a military and an energy perspective. He emphasized that the Black Sea is essential for the gas production of Romania and Turkey, as well as for energy imports from the Caspian region.

Additionally, the president announced the expansion of the demining operation at critical infrastructure, following an agreement signed with Turkey and Bulgaria during the summit.
