The new one-day vignette, adopted by the Bulgarian Government, will apply to cars, SUVs, and small minibuses, with a price set at 4.09 euros. This reflects the principle of proportionality and aligns with existing toll systems. Additionally, a compensatory fee of 1,200 leva is introduced for heavy vehicles without authorization, aimed at discouraging unauthorized use of toll roads. Bulgaria is thus modernizing its road tax system, preparing for the adoption of the euro.
