Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced that investments financed through the PNRR that are not completed and received by the end of August will have to be paid for by local authorities.
Ilie Bolojan stated that out of the more than 15,000 projects contracted at the national level, over 4,500 were still to be received at the beginning of August. In August, over 2,000 investments were received, and the projects completed by the end of the month will benefit from non-reimbursable funding from the PNRR. The Prime Minister stated that local authorities will receive support from government services to finalize the receptions and submit payment requests in September, which will be paid quickly. Unfinished projects by the end of August will continue, but the costs will be borne by local authorities.
Bolojan warned that authorities that do not complete the works by the end of the year will have to reimburse the collected funds.
The PNRR has financed various projects, including in infrastructure, health, and education.
