Between September 14 and 18, 2026, the Energy Ministry processed payments and transfer requests totaling more than €74 million for projects funded through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). The institution announced that it wants to complete payments to beneficiaries in the energy sector approximately one month ahead of the statutory deadline.
This week, the ministry made payments of €41.44 million and authorized 10 transfer requests with a combined value of €32.86 million.
At present, another 11 transfer requests totaling approximately €55.02 million are being processed. Ten of them, worth €54.61 million, were submitted in the third quarter of 2026, while one request, worth €0.41 million, dates from the second quarter of 2025.
The ministry said efforts are focused on reviewing documentation, authorizing the amounts and making payments quickly, so that administrative operations do not delay the program’s closure.
The investments target renewable energy generation capacity, storage solutions, energy efficiency projects and the modernization of energy infrastructure. The ministry stressed that, although the PNRR is nearing its end, the results of the investments are expected to be maintained after the program concludes.
