Romania officially submitted its final payment request under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan to the European Commission on Wednesday evening, September 30. The request has a gross value of €6.04 billion, while the net amount requested, after deducting the pre-financing, is €4,347,770,169.
The announcement was made by the interim Minister of Investments and European Projects, Dragoș Pîslaru, who said that the net amount includes €2.58 billion in non-reimbursable European funds and €1.76 billion in loans.
The documentation submitted to the European Commission includes 104 targets and milestones associated with reforms and investments in transport, energy, healthcare, education, the digitalization of public services, water and waste management, and the energy efficiency of homes.
Among the measures declared completed are the expansion of water and sewage networks, the construction and equipping of nurseries, the development of day-care centers, the purchase of ambulances, and the energy renovation of public and residential buildings. The request also includes investments in sustainable mobility, the modernization of the customs system, and measures to reduce school dropout rates.
The submission of this request concludes the stage of transmitting payment requests under the Recovery and Resilience Plan. The European Commission's assessment will follow, and payment will be made after confirmation that the targets and milestones have been satisfactorily met.
