The National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR) has informed that the application of tariffs for the road vignette and TollRo will begin on October 1, 2026. From August 31, 2026, the Electronic Road Pricing System of Romania (STRR) will be introduced, which will operate within the European Road Charging Service (SETRE) Romania. The TollRo system will apply to freight transport vehicles with a maximum authorized total weight (MTMA) greater than 3.5 tons. Tariffs will be collected through STRR, and mixed transport vehicles will be treated as freight transport vehicles. According to Law no. 226/2023, the application of these tariffs will start on the mentioned date, and interoperability with similar systems in the European Union will become operational on January 15, 2027.
