CNAIR will not impose sanctions on users who were unable to pay the TollRo fee starting October 1, 2026, at 00:00, until the platform’s technical issues are resolved. The company announced that the amounts owed will be determined later, with no additional costs for users, in accordance with legal provisions.
The disruptions occurred after the launch of the Electronic Road Tolling System, due to the large number of users and transactions. Delays or problems in receiving confirmation emails were reported, particularly for Gmail and Yahoo addresses, as well as difficulties in connecting the platform with the payment processor.
CNAIR states that the purchase and validity of the rovinieta and the TollRo fee are not affected. The technical teams, together with the payment processor and STS, are checking the initiated transactions, reconciling payments, and working to stabilize the services.
TollRo applies to vehicles weighing over 3.5 tons traveling on Romania’s national roads, expressways, and motorways. The fee is calculated based on distance, vehicle weight, Euro standard, and type of road. Rovinietas purchased by September 30 retain their validity.
