Transport operators continue to report problems with the TollRo application, used since October 1, 2026, to charge vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tonnes on roads in Romania. The difficulties concern connectivity, topping up the electronic wallet, route configuration, tolling sessions, and missing roads on the map.
The National Union of Road Transporters of Romania and the Confederation of Authorized Operators and Transporters of Romania report blocked accounts, errors when issuing and paying for tickets, session interruptions, and problems for companies with large fleets. Transport operators say these situations consume drivers’ and dispatchers’ time and may make it harder to carry out trips.
One new development is that CNAIR is currently unable to provide the number of fines issued. The company says that verification of the records made by fixed and mobile control points has not been completed, so consolidated statistical data are not available.
CNAIR recommends keeping screenshots and error messages. In the event of a malfunction of the central system, drivers should not be fined, according to the company. In case of prolonged loss of the GPS signal, they must stop in a safe place and purchase a manual route ticket.
