Nearly two weeks after TollRo became operational, transport operators using vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tonnes continue to report technical problems and routing errors affecting their journeys and deliveries. The app charges for travel based on distance and road type.
On Friday morning, dozens of drivers scheduled to travel through the Olt Valley were unable to obtain road tickets because the platform was not working. They had to leave before 8:00 a.m., when traffic restrictions were due to take effect. CNAIR subsequently announced that the faults had been fixed and said it would not issue fines for the period during which the system was unavailable.
Transport operators say, however, that problems also occur when the app is declared operational. Some users cannot top up their electronic wallets or create accounts, while others are directed onto routes prohibited for trucks or onto very long detours. In addition, some roads that exist in reality are missing from the map, including an approximately two-kilometre section in the Pitești area.
UNTRR warns that delays may generate contractual penalties and affect the supply of stores, particularly in the case of tanker transport. The organization proposes reopening rovinieta distribution points to issue TollRo tickets and also reports a massive increase in the number of invoices for companies with large fleets.
