Fuel prices in Romania continue to rise, with a recent increase of approximately 11-12 bani per liter for gasoline, while diesel has had a more stable but slightly upward trend. From January 1, 2026, Romanians could experience even higher price increases, as the excise duty on fuels will be raised by 10%, which could lead to an increase of approximately 30 bani per liter for both types of fuel. This could cause prices to exceed the psychological threshold of 8 lei.
