Suppliers in Romania are facing sudden price increases at the pump, with fuel prices rising in the last 24 hours. On August 13, a liter of standard gasoline reached costs, in many large cities, over 9.50 lei, with an increase of approximately 20 bani compared to the previous day.
Diesel also recorded an increase of nearly 15 bani, reaching an average price of 10.67 lei per liter.
These price increases come after a month in which fuels had some of the largest price hikes, with diesel increasing by 30.7% and gasoline by 23.15%.
In July, the inflation rate decreased, but the prices of non-food goods, including fuels, continued to rise.
