Romanian drivers pay more for diesel / Gasoline and LPG keep their prices

Romanian drivers filling up their cars on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, have to pay more for diesel. The price of this fuel has increased by up to nine bani per liter compared with the previous day, amid recent price hikes on the fuel market.

Standard diesel costs between 10.91 and 10.99 lei per liter, while premium diesel prices range from 11.33 to 11.78 lei per liter. By contrast, gasoline and LPG prices have remained unchanged. Standard gasoline is sold for 9.93–9.99 lei per liter, premium gasoline for 10.41–10.56 lei, and LPG for 4.67–4.70 lei per liter.

The lowest prices in the country are in Dâmbovița County, where gasoline can be purchased for 9.87 lei per liter and diesel for 10.75 lei. Among major cities, Timișoara is one of the most affordable markets, with prices of 9.91 lei for gasoline and 10.88 lei for diesel. Drivers are closely monitoring price developments following the increases associated with the conflict in the Middle East.
