PSD President Sorin Grindeanu stated on Friday at the TSD Political School in Neptun that Romania needs a fully empowered government and that the Social Democrats are ready to take on governing responsibilities. He specified that PSD can support either a minority cabinet or a coalition formula.
Grindeanu said that the party wants Romania to have, in the coming weeks, a government led by PSD or formed around this party. The Social Democrat leader linked this position to the political crisis and the economic and social problems facing the country.
According to Grindeanu, the interim period affects all social categories, from young people and pensioners to employees in the private sector and the public sector. He criticized the current political arrangement, arguing that government decisions have focused too much on figures and too little on people.
The PSD leader asked young Social Democrats to remain connected to citizens' problems and to convey to the party the difficulties experienced amid the political and economic crisis.
