As part of a pilot project, Bucharest's Old Center will be equipped with modern surveillance cameras to reduce crime. Acting mayor Stelian Bujduveanu explained that the system will cover all angles of the area, which is frequented by tourists. The project also includes the sanitation and rehabilitation of infrastructure in the area. Bujduveanu stresses the importance of technology, including artificial intelligence, in monitoring behavior and crime prevention. Installation of the cameras could start early next year.
