Amazon suspends 21 Air flights after Miami plane crash

Amazon has announced the temporary suspension of operations with 21 Air following the aviation accident in Miami, where an aircraft operated by 21 Air crashed, causing the deaths of five people. The National Transportation Safety Board is examining the aircraft’s history, weather conditions, maintenance, and the operator’s activities. Preliminary data indicate warnings about excessive speed and proximity to the ground. The 32-year-old aircraft had been converted from a passenger aircraft into a cargo plane in 2015.

Amazon owns a fleet of more than 100 cargo aircraft, either directly or through leasing agreements. The company uses service providers to operate these aircraft, including companies such as 21 Air.
