At least five people were killed after an Amazon Prime Air cargo plane ran off the runway while landing at Miami International Airport on Sunday and struck several cars, local authorities said.

Prime Air Flight 7598 overran the airport’s diagonal runway shortly before 18:00 GMT and struck several vehicles on the ground, officials said during a press conference on Sunday afternoon.

Authorities declined to disclose the identities of those who lost their lives.

More than 60 rescue crews and approximately 200 staff members responded to the scene, the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Service said in a statement.
