A small aircraft crashed in Alaska, causing the death of the four people on board.

A Piper PA-24 plane with four people on board crashed Wednesday into the waters near the town of Seldovia, Alaska, after taking off from Anchorage. All four people died in the accident, according to information provided by officials.

The aircraft was found submerged at approximately 15 feet deep in the marsh in Seldovia, and the recovery of the bodies was only possible after the tide receded. Authorities managed to extract the victims, who will be sent to the coroner's office for identification.

The cause of the crash is not yet clear.

This is the second aviation accident in Alaska in less than a week, after another plane crashed at a military base, resulting in the deaths of all eight people on board.
