The Romprest company announced that, starting from November 18, it will stop street cleaning in Sector 1 of Bucharest due to unpaid debts by the municipality led by George Tuță, which amount to 116 million lei. Romprest claims that the municipality has repeatedly violated legal and contractual obligations, including the non-payment of legally issued invoices. Although street cleaning will be suspended, the waste collection service from the population and companies will continue.
The company mentioned that it tried to avoid this situation through dialogue and mediation, but was ignored by the authorities. Romprest emphasized that the refusal to pay and the unilateral actions of the municipality severely affect the services provided and the community. This is not the first time that Sector 1 is facing sanitation issues, a similar situation occurred in 2024 under the former mayor Clotilde Armand.
