The administration of Donald Trump is exerting significant pressure on Ukraine to accept a peace plan with Russia, setting a deadline by Thanksgiving Day, on November 27. The office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the official receipt of the plan, which contains 28 points imposing major concessions from Kyiv. Ukrainian officials emphasize that some provisions are unacceptable and are working on counterproposals.

Although the U.S. wants a quick completion of the agreement, it is unlikely that this timeline will be respected, given the clear limits set by Ukraine. Zelensky has agreed to collaborate on the plan, but Ukrainian civil society opposes any agreement perceived as a capitulation.
