The local councilors of Sector 1 decided on Tuesday to increase taxes for 16 owners of buildings in an advanced state of degradation, which pose a risk to citizens. The increases range from 100% to 500%, depending on the state of deterioration of the properties located on Pandele Țăranu, Saint Constantin, Costache Aristia, Căderea Bastiliei, and Transilvaniei streets.

Additionally, the Local Council approved the establishment of a necessity housing fund in the building on Munții Tatra street, to support the reinforcement of buildings with high seismic risk. In Sector 1, there are 25 properties that require urgent reinforcement; however, interventions for some of them are delayed due to the lack of necessary spaces for relocating approximately 50 families. The Sector 1 City Hall will actively participate in the reinforcement program carried out by the Bucharest Municipality City Hall.
